public class MainWindow

extends javax.swing.JFrame

This class is used as the top-level main window of an application. The MainWindow window will be almost as big as the screen and positioned at the center of the screen. When the user closes this window, the program is terminated.

By default, this window will display the image file 'javabook2.gif' located in the directory that contains the javabook2 subdirectory. If the specified file is not located in the directory, then no image will be displayed and no error will be generated. To replace the image with your own image file, simply save your image file as 'javabook2.gif' and place it in the directory above javabook2. If you prefer to refer to a different filenae or use the image located in a different directory, then change the value of the constant CENTER_IMAGE_FILE in this source file. If you use Mac or Unix, you may need to change the value of this constant to fit the path specification for your platform.

Default constructor. The title is fixed to "Sample Java Application".

MainWindow

public MainWindow(java.lang.String title)

Creates a new MainWindow object with the designated title.

Parameters:

title - the title of the window

MainWindow

protected MainWindow(java.lang.String title,
                     boolean load)

Protected constructor used by the subclasses. This constructor allows the subclass to enable or disable the image loading.

Parameters:

load - true to load the center image

title - the title of this window
